On behalf of an owner, evaluated the performance of an EPC contractor performing a multibillion-dollar expansion of a U.S. Gulf Coast Refinery under a reimbursable contract. Issues included poor project management performance, delay, disruption, defective designs, and gross negligence, all of which led to significant increased project cost over the initial project budget and multiple budget reforecast during project execution.

On behalf of an owner, performed a schedule quality assurance review of an EPCM contractor’s EPC schedule on a new methanol plant.

Provided a claims prevention training seminar for a chemical company and its EPCM contractor on an $800 million methanol project

On behalf of a pressure vessel manufacturer, analyzed the scheduling issues, delay claims, and damages that a contractor incurred on an oil refinery project. Evaluated the contractor’s failure to properly/fully compensate the pressure vessel manufacturer for two pressure vessels that were fabricated and supplied to the project. Also evaluated the contractor’s disruption claims, performance, productivity, and claim for the repair of alleged faulty work related to the internals of the pressure vessels that our client provided.

Reviewed typical contracts, cost and schedule control procedures that an offshore oil and gas contractor used to identify language that could be improved to reduce risks, identify ambiguities, and mitigate the potential for claims.

On behalf of an owner, reviewed a claim involving disputed change orders and extra work by a contractor against a chemical company of an EVS/CVS upgrade project.
